Where can I find my RevIQ Serial Number?
Your RevIQ Serial Number is not included with your RevIQ Boxed product, it is emailed
to you when your RevIQ order is processed. if you have installed RevIQ you
can find your serial number by starting RevIQ and clicking 'Help' on the top menu,
then 'Activate RevIQ'
How can I tell what version of RevIQ I am using?
You can tell the version of RevIQ you are using by starting RevIQ and clicking 'Help'
on the top menu, then 'About RevIQ'
If RevIQ will not start (and this is the reason you are upgrading) then you can tell which version you have installed by following the below steps:
1. Start Windows Explorer by clicking your Windows 'Start' button, then 'All
Programs', 'Accessories', 'Windows Explorer'
2. Locate the file 'C:\program files\RevIQ\RevIQ.exe'
3. Right click on this file and select 'properties'
4. Click to the 'version' tab - this will give the version of RevIQ
Issues Installing RevIQ
What Operating Systems does RevIQ Run on?
RevIQ Runs on Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista only (how can
I tell what operating system I am using). RevIQ
is not supported on Windows 98. RevIQ is also not supported on mac systems,
although some users do use RevIQ on their mac systems by using a Virtual PC type
system.
I get an error installing the RevIQ Database Engine (Microsoft SQL Server)
If you have issues installing the Database engine that RevIQ uses (Microsoft
SQL Server Express) then we recommend that you follow the below steps:
Step1. Go to your control panel, then 'Add/Remove programs'. Remove (un-install) the following entries if they are present:
Step 2. Attempt to install RevIQ again. If this fails, then repeat step 1 and attempt step 3 below
Step 3. Download and install this component directly from the Microsoft website. You
can download this component from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=31711d5d-725c-4afa-9d65-e4465cdff1e7&displaylang=en
If you are using a 64 bit system, then you must download the SQLEXPR.EXE file, all other users the SQLEXPR32.EXE file is recommended.
After downloading and installing this component, try installing RevIQ again
After upgrading I receive a message 'Cannot connect to database' or 'Cannot
create datastore' when I start RevIQ
If you receive either of these messages it generally indicates that the
upgrade process could not transfer your database into the new database format used
by the latest version of RevIQ. In this case you will need to
contact RevIQ support. You may be asked to download and install the
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, this can be done from the link below.
